We live surrounded by people, yet many find their lives empty as friendships remain elusive. Loneliness and its resulting social anxieties are increasing, especially in the younger generation.
A Cure For Loneliness started as a visual representation of friends, but as the project progressed it became more than that. The series reflects upon the expectations, experience and interpretation of friendship, examining anxieties surrounding relationships and their impact on how these relationships develop. It explores the vulnerability created by closeness, the inevitable flaws revealed with intimacy and the confusion that this can cause. A Cure For Loneliness looks inwardly and responds to the relationships we have with ourselves as well as with others.
